The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Join as an early engineering hire, designing, building and owning production features of an AI-driven software platform from first idea through release. The role involves working closely with technical leadership, internal subject-matter experts and clients to turn real operational needs into shipped software.
What you'll do
- Build and own a conversational search and analysis feature that lets users query large bodies of data and generate work products.
- Design and ship automated multi-step workflows, including structured data extraction and tool-calling systems that run reliably at scale.
- Build the supporting infrastructure that keeps language-model features production-ready, including evaluation, observability, structured outputs, error handling and monitoring.
- Work with clients and internal experts to understand operations, spot automation opportunities and deliver features end-to-end.
- Partner closely with technical leadership to develop deep expertise in your area of the platform and eventually own it independently.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- Background building business-to-business AI products or large-scale document processing systems.
- A track record of delivering and maintaining live software where reliability matters.
- Hands-on experience with LLM agents, tool-calling and multi-step AI workflows, including handling nondeterminism and context management.
- Strong backend engineering skills in Python at platform scale.
- Comfort designing database schemas for layered, interconnected information.
- Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation.
- Ability to own features end-to-end without detailed specs or design support, communicating proactively.
- A four-year degree.
- Ability to work on-site five days a week.

- Base salary: USD 165,000 to 185,000 per year
