JOB DESCRIPTION:
Location: Milan, Italy - On-site presence required 4 days per week
Department: AlinIQ Product R&D, Abbott Core Diagnostics
Abbott is seeking a Software Engineer in Test to design, develop, and execute manual and automated tests for our informatics products. You’ll work in an Agile Scrum environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality software delivery. This role involves building and maintaining automation tools, performing test case analysis, and supporting product releases and audits.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute manual and automated tests for server, web, and cloud-based applications.
- Develop test cases for black/white box testing and continuous integration.
- Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and analysts to ensure test coverage and compliance.
- Support audits and product re-certifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 2+ years in software development or testing.
- Knowledge of SDLC, testing methodologies, and at least one OOP language.
- Experience with test case management tools.
- Fluent in English.
Preferred Skills
- Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Oracle/PostgreSQL databases.
- JIRA, Jenkins, GitHub, Agile/Scrum.
- Healthcare standards (ASTM, HL7) and quality processes.
