We are looking for talented, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a cross-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of cutting-edge payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.

The Work itself:

  • Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visa’s internal standards for scalability, security, and reusability.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings.
  • Actively contribute to product quality improvements, value added service technology, and new business flows in diverse agile squads.
  • Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants, b2b, and business to government solutions.
  • Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services, Transaction Platforms, Real-Time Payments, and Buy Now Pay Later Technology

Essential Functions.

  • Works alongside others to implement modifications to existing software code that complies with design specifications and meets security best practices.
  • Assists with improvements to systems and tools and supports development and implementation of new automation, asking questions as necessary. 
  • Engages with team members and manager during code/design reviews, participates in on-call rotations and incident responses throughout product development and operations cycles.
  • Leverages working knowledge of systems/platforms and telemetry analyses to identify basic issues in code, processes, and designs when they are inconsistent with customer/business objectives. 
  • Understand new system enhancement requirements and design test strategy & test cases & functionally test features end-to-end to ensure optimum quality of solutions being delivered. 
  • Automate testing using proprietary Visa frameworks as well as other open-source / commercial tools to achieve maximum test coverage. 
  • Play an Automation Lead role for newly developed features & carry out testing efforts such as functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, bug tracking etc. 
  • Have strong debugging skills to be able to find issues through execution of Automation suite and also be able to analyse the problem through log stacktrace or UI Console output to actual code / config that is causing problems to help fix the defect. 
  • Leverage newer technologies and develop solutions to build the next generation of payment solutions.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications 
•Bachelor's degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications 
•Associate: 2 or more years of work experience
Knowledge of back-end Java code development
•Ability to develop and utilize APIs
•Knowledge of database software
•Knowledge of systems integration
•Knowledge of data structures
•Strong experience in software automation methodologies
•Hands-on experience in backend technologies including JAVA, SQL and related technol-ogy stack
•Hands-on experience in Test automation frameworks and technologies like RestAssured, Karate, TestNG
•Hands-on experience on Behaviour driven development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber, JBehave or Serenity
•Hands-on experience in Spring Framework, Spring Boot, MongoDB and JPA / Hibernate
•Hands on experience in distributed architecture & data streaming approaches like Kafka and RabbitMQ
•Expertise in various testing methodologies
•Solid experience in tools like JMeter, SoapUI, Postman / Any REST Client
•Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, problem solving and complexity analy-sis
•Strong designing, analytical, programming & communication skills
•Experience with web services standards and related technologies
•Demonstrable experience utilizing object-oriented patterns and design best practices
•Experience working with a variety of Application Servers and Databases such as Tomcat and Oracle
•Familiarity with common application security vulnerabilities and how to overcome them (OWASP)
•Knowledge in micro services and hands-on experience on container platforms like Kuber-netes, Docker and OpenShift
•Knowledge on Performance analysis tools like Riverbed and Monitoring tools like Splunk and Opera
