Software Engineer - SME
Poznań, Poland
Your responsibilities:
This position will support the newly reorganized Digital Workspace Experience (DWE) - Field Services organization. As a Software Engineer-SME for Deere & Company located in Poznan, Poland you will:
- Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for software solutions used in production factories and offices globally.
- Lead the selection, design, and deployment of software applications in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Implement and manage software solutions to enable secure provisioning, remote support, impact on current hardware fleet, and lifecycle management.
- Design and maintain monitoring, patching, and vulnerability management strategies to ensure application health, security, and compliance.
- Conduct operational reviews and drive continuous improvement in software performance and supportability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align software architecture with business and operational goals.
- Provide third-line support and act as an escalation point for complex software-related issues.
- Maintain documentation for software configurations, standards, and operational procedures.
- Develop and maintain scripts or automation workflows to streamline software deployment, configuration, monitoring, and reporting tasks.
Our requirements:
- Proven hands-on experience with enterprise software management and deployment/support in factory or office environments.
- Understanding of multiple vendor-specific applications and APIs in enterprise environments.
- Experience working with internal and external partners to evaluate, select, and implement software solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex software and infrastructure issues.
- Familiarity with patching, monitoring, and maintaining software applications at scale.
- Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to junior team members.
Nice to have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with software lifecycle management, budgeting, and operational analytics.
- Exposure to scripting or automation tools for software configuration and monitoring (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Understanding of network and IT security principles as they apply to software applications and endpoints.
- Experience contributing to enterprise architecture and software design discussions.
