Requirements
Fortanix is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Key Insight team based in India. In this role, you will play a critical role coding in Rust and designing, building, and maintaining our observability platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance and optimize the performance and scalability of our cloud security solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Turn product requirements into clear technical designs and implementation plans.
- Build and run backend microservices and REST APIs for our observability platform.
- Analyze and fix performance and scalability issues in distributed systems on confidential computing.
- Design and evolve database architecture for scalable, reliable data access.
- Drive high code quality through reviews and a strong focus on stability and security.
What you’ll need (Basic Qualifications)
- Has 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Is proficient in building backend systems in Rust.
- Has strong backend experience with distributed systems, microservices, and REST APIs.
- Understands observability concepts such as monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
- Has experience with database architecture, scaling, and optimization.
- Has worked with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Is familiar with CI/CD, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Communicates clearly and solves problems effectively.

Skills Required
- 3-5 years hands-on experience with C/C++ or Rust
- Passion for low-level software (mainly x86)
- Knowledgeable of the Linux kernel
- A knack for higher-level constructs to ensure code quality (e.g., Rust)
- Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, Information Security or related field
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and creatively
