The Role
Design and build high-fidelity robotics simulation platforms to validate AGVs, fleet management systems, and web controllers. Develop scalable virtual environments, automated test scenarios, and CI/CD-integrated validation frameworks. Support system verification, regression testing, discrepancy analysis, and collaboration with software, QA, and systems teams to improve simulation accuracy and software quality.
Summary Generated by Built In
We are seeking a Robotics Simulation Software Engineer to design and develop advanced simulation platforms used to evaluate, validate, and verify the performance of robotics applications across a variety of operational scenarios and test cases. This role will focus on building scalable, high-fidelity simulation environments that enable the testing of Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Fleet Management Systems and web-based controllers before deployment in production environments. We offer:

The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering skills with solid understanding of autonomous navigation, simulation technologies, and software quality practices. You will play a key role in building a virtual validation framework that accelerates product development, reduces dependence on physical hardware, and improves system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Simulation Environment Development

  • Design, develop, and maintain simulation tools and frameworks for validating robotics applications under a wide range of operating conditions and test scenarios.
  • Build high-fidelity virtual environments that accurately represent warehouse, manufacturing, and intralogistics operations.
  • Develop scalable simulation architectures capable of supporting large fleets of autonomous mobile robots.

System Validation & Verification

  • Enable early-stage validation of Fleet Management Systems and robotics software without requiring physical robots.
  • Develop automated test scenarios, evaluation metrics, and performance benchmarks.
  • Analyze discrepancies between simulated and real-world system behavior and continuously improve simulation accuracy.
  • Support regression testing and verification of software releases using simulation-based testing methodologies.

Virtual Lab & Test Automation

  • Contribute to the development of a virtual lab environment for end-to-end testing of robotics solutions.
  • Integrate simulation tools into CI/CD pipelines to support automated testing and continuous validation.
  • Collaborate with software developers, QA engineers, systems engineers, and robotics teams to define test requirements and acceptance criteria.

Software Engineering & Quality

  • Apply software quality best practices including code reviews, unit testing, system testing, and automated validation.

Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis of software and system-level issues identified through simulation.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of professional software development experience using C++ and/or Python.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Linux-based development environments.
  • Experience developing software for robotics, autonomous systems, or industrial automation solutions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with robotics simulation and development tools, including:
    • ROS2
    • Gazebo
    • Isaac Sim
    • Python
  • Experience with modern software engineering practices including:
