The UI Engineer (SG26) will be responsible for designing and developing modern, responsive, and scalable web-based user interfaces for data platforms, analytics applications, and AI-enabled solutions built by the data engineering and AI/ML teams. This role focuses on delivering intuitive, high-performance frontend experiences that enable users to interact seamlessly with complex data pipelines, analytics outputs, and backend services.
The individual will work closely with data engineers, backend engineers, architects, and product stakeholders to translate requirements into reusable UI components and end-to-end frontend solutions. The role requires solid expertise in ReactJS, TypeScript/JavaScript, and modern frontend engineering practices, along with a solid understanding of API integration, testing, and Agile delivery.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive, user-friendly frontend applications using ReactJS, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Collaborate with data engineering and backend teams to build UI layers for data-driven applications, dashboards, and analytics platforms
  • Translate functional and technical requirements into reusable UI components and scalable frontend architectures
  • Implement React fundamentals including components, hooks, lifecycle methods, and state management to build maintainable applications
  • Integrate frontend applications with RESTful APIs, handling asynchronous data flows and error scenarios effectively
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, accessibility (a11y), and adherence to web standards and best practices
  • Participate in defining and evolving frontend technical architecture, tooling, and development standards
  • Utilize modern frontend build tools and ecosystems such as Webpack, Babel, npm, and Yarn
  • Write and maintain unit and component tests using Jest and React Testing Library to ensure application stability and quality
  • Actively participate in code reviews, ensuring high-quality, secure, and performant frontend code
  • Collaborate using Git and GitHub, following branching strategies and contributing through pull requests
  • Work in an Agile/Scrum environment, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives
  • Partner with QA, product, and architecture teams to ensure timely delivery and alignment with business objectives
  • Contribute to documentation related to UI components, frontend workflows, and development practices
  • (Good to have) Support minor backend integrations or enhancements using Python and assist with SQL-based data interactions when needed
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience developing frontend applications using ReactJS, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous communication
  • Hands-on experience with modern frontend toolchains such as Webpack, Babel, npm, and Yarn
  • Experience writing unit tests and component tests using Jest and React Testing Library
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments
  • Solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a solid understanding of responsive and accessible web design
  • Working knowledge of Git and GitHub, including version control, branching strategies, and collaborative code reviews
  • Hands-on exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as Microsoft Copilot, with a basic understanding of prompt engineering to improve coding efficiency, productivity, and documentation quality
  • Proficiency in React fundamentals, including components, hooks, lifecycle methods, and state management patterns
  • Proven solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively across teams

Preferred Qualification:
  • Experience with Python for basic backend development and SQL databases for querying structured data
