Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems is seeking a Software Engineer/Principal Software Engineer – DevSecOps to join the Ground Segment team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Software organization. This role is a hybrid role located on site in San Diego, CA.
In this role you will be working with the latest technology to modernize software product production with DevSecOps - continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous cyber, continuous deployment, and continuous metrics on aerospace programs. Specifically, you will be responsible for the design, architecture, development, deployment, and operation of modern DevSecOps software factory. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, such as with Systems Engineering, Real-time & Embedded Software, Test Automation, DevSecOps, and Systems Test in an Agile software development environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement segments of DevSecOps lifecycle - continuous build, continuous integration, continuous test, continuous cyber, and continuous deployment pipeline
Manage infrastructure-as-code to scale cloud footprint dynamically and cost-effectively
Support full-stack software development across multiple languages, architectures, and tools
Work closely with cross-functional teams to collect feedback, derive requirements, and action solutions

This position may be filled as either a level 2 Software Engineer or a level 3 Principal Software Engineer.
Basic Qualifications:
Level 2: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with at least 2 years of experience, OR a Master Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with entry level experience
Level 3: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with at least 5 years of experience, OR a Master Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with at least 3 years of experience, OR a PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline with at least 0 years of experience
Experience with at least one programming language (Python, Java, C++, C#, Shell, Batch, Powershell, Groovy) and software development lifecycle
Experience with React.js, REST API integration, and JSON/XML parsing
Experience with software development using agile processes (Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban)
Experience with implementing DevSecOps lifecycle - continuous build, integration, test, deployment, cyber, monitoring
Experience with one of the following continues integration tools: Jenkins, Gitlab, Bamboo
Experience with one of the following change management tracking system tools: Jira, ClearQuest, Asana
Experience with one of the following source-control systems: GIT, GitLab, GitHub, Bitbucket, Subversion
Exposed to Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Vault, Nexus, Fortify, dependency management tools, and monitoring systems like Prometheus
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain an Interim Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with configuration of virtual machines and virtual networks (VPC, NSX-T, NSX-V)
Experience with one of the following system-level automated test tools: Robot Framework, Selenium, TestComplete
Experience with React.js, REST API, GraphQL API integration, and JSON/XML parsing
Experience with REST/GraphQL API integration and JSON/XML parsing
Experience with cloud/virtualization platforms (AWS, VMWare, Azure, Kubernetes, Docker)
Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Vault, Nexus, Fortify, dependency management tools, and monitoring systems like Prometheus
Experience with Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) CI/CD
Experience building Microsoft Power Apps
Linux and Windows SysAdmin experience
Bitbucket, Jira, Crucible, and Fortify SSC administration experience
Proficiency with system requirements and DOORS
Knowledge in Cybersecurity principles
Experience using AI tools
Active Secret Clearance
