Role Description

As a Software Engineer on our Product Development team, you’ll work in an agile environment contributing to the development of industry-leading SaaS products and web service platforms.. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, coding, and deploying scalable software, taking ownership of specific features from inception to deployment to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of best practices and coding standards to enhance overall technical expertise.
  • Actively participating in code reviews, ensuring coding standards and best practices.
  • Addressing cloud-based software challenges, including troubleshooting live production environments, minimizing downtime, and resolving client-reported issues.
  • Participating actively in agile team activities such as daily stand-ups, design sessions, code reviews, and sprint demos.
  • Integrating test development into your workflow by writing unit and integration tests.
  • Staying updated on platform changes, plugins, and industry trends.

Skills and Aptitudes

The Candidate will have these required skills: 

  • Experience designing, coding, and deploying scalable software
  • Proficiency in PHP, SQL databases, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (LAMP/Moodle stack preferred)
  • Experience working with web services and APIs
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles
  • Effective communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences in English.
  • Adaptability and quick learning abilities with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in software testing
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in agile projects.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD processes
  • Familiarity with AWS or other cloud-based infrastructures.

Preferable skills

  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
  • Knowledge or experience with Moodle-based solutions.
  • Experience with AWS or other cloud-based infrastructures.
  • Experience with CI/CD
