At Eluvio (https://eluv.io), we’re tackling one of the Internet’s biggest challenges: video. Our Content Fabric is a decentralized platform reimagining how premium media is delivered, processed, and monetized. Unlike traditional cloud and CDN workflows, it enables real-time routing, just-in-time transcoding, personalized playback, and secure ledger-based rights management — all inline with the video stream itself.

Our Team
We’re led by the founders of Aspera — an Emmy Award–winning technology company acquired by IBM — and joined by engineers and leaders who have built, scaled, and successfully exited multiple other startups. Our headquarters are in Berkeley, CA, near the UC Berkeley campus, and we’re proud alumni of the UC Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator.
The Role
We’re looking for exceptional new graduates who are ready to jump in as full-time Software Engineers. If you have a strong academic background, solid fundamentals, and a hunger to learn and make an impact, we want to hear from you. BSc is required; MSc or PhD is a plus.
Depending on your skills and interests, you’ll join one of three areas:
• Core Systems – Work with Go, Rust, and C/C++, WebAssembly on backend systems, and our full video/audio transcoding, packaging, and processing stack (ffmpeg fork). You’ll also be able to contribute to our decentralized content routing and storage protocol.
• Applications & Frontend – Build experiences across backend, web, mobile, and TV. Our stack includes Go, JavaScript, Typescript, WebAssembly, Swift (iOS/tvOS), and Kotlin (Android/GoogleTV). You’ll help shape streaming, download, and viewing products used by a wide audience.
• AI/ML – Develop and apply models for content description, summarization, search, retrieval, and personalization. Our work spans LLMs, VLMs, RAG, reinforcement learning, optimization, and data science.
Our main office is located in Berkeley, CA and we prefer collaborating in-person, with lots of flexibility around exact hours.
Requirements
• Education: BSc in EECS or related field (MSc/PhD encouraged)
• Proven ability: Excellence shown through coursework, internships, research, or open-source contributions
• Core fundamentals: Strong grounding in algorithms, concurrency, networking, security, and/or machine learning; research experience in new problem areas a plus
By Track
• Core Systems: Proficiency in Go, Rust, and/or C/C++; experience with testing; knowledge of video codecs (H.264, H.265, AV1) and/or WebRTC a plus
• Applications: JavaScript/React and full-stack development; experience with mobile (iOS/Android) or TV apps a plus
• AI/ML: Python and ML/DL frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn); familiarity with Transformers, RAG, LoRA, CV/NLP
Soft Skills
• Clear and collaborative communicator
• Detail-oriented but able to move fast
• Creative problem solver with a team-first mindset
Nice to Have
• Core: Applied cryptography (e.g., SEC 256, proxy re-encryption, threshold ciphers), media standards (HLS/DASH, H.264, H.265, AV1, WebRTC), ffmpeg, and JavaScript-based media players
• AI/ML: Experience building fine-tuned or multi-stage ML pipelines, including advanced techniques (LoRA, mixture-of-experts, advanced RAG, statistical optimization)

What We Do
Eluvio is transforming the management, distribution, and economics of premium video for content owners.
The Eluvio Content Fabric is a global platform service that enables just-in-time, low-latency content distribution, monetization, and asset servicing directly to consumers. Content is delivered directly from source as on-demand streams, live streams, and dynamic sequences–without the use of separate transcoding services, content delivery networks (CDNs), or aggregation services–and without creating file copies.
An embedded blockchain ledger, contract-backed content, and dynamic composition enable personalization, rights control, monetization, and re-use of media and metadata across properties and devices. Open source APIs are available for publishing content to the Fabric, streaming and downloading from the Fabric, and URL-based consumption of static and dynamic content from the Fabric.
The Eluvio Content Fabric is being used by Tier 1 Hollywood studios, broadcasters, and new mobile streaming platforms to create more efficient, cost-effective, and faster digital supply chains. The Fabric was awarded the 2020 Engineering Excellence Award by the Hollywood Professional Association (HPA), the 2020 Best Use of Blockchain in Media Award by Cable and Satellite International (CSI), and other industry accolades.
