DESCRIPTION:
Duties: Develop, test, and debug automated tasks for applications, systems, and infrastructure. Design, deploy, and manage public cloud services and infrastructure. Build, create, and modify server configurations for web- based applications. Troubleshoot priority incidents and facilitate blameless post-mortems. Collaborate with development teams throughout the software life cycle to ensure sustainable software releases. Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to predict potential issues and take proactive actions. Build and drive adoption of solutions for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns. Lead and participate in performance testing to identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands. Provide support coverage and drive continual improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, IT Operational Analyst, System Administrator, or related occupation. The employer will alternatively accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, IT Operational Analyst, System Administrator, or related occupation.
Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Deploying, configuring, troubleshooting, destroying, and providing operational support for core AWS Services, including EKS, ECS, Elasticache, EC2, ALB, NLB, S3, EFS, EBS, EKS Cluster Auto Scaler, and Karpenter; Configuring the scaling behavior of ASG; Right-sizing Docker containers and node groups; Configuring ALB rule sets to manage web traffic to the application; Designing, coding, testing, and delivering software using Groovy, Python, Shell/bash, and HCL; Writing code in support of managing and deploy code via IaC technologies via Terraform, scripts, and AaaS; Creating and implementing orchestration runbooks to deploy Terraform modules via automation; Implementing new automated solutions using Jenkins, Spinnaker, Ansible, BitBucket, Splunk, and Datadog; Building and managing pipelines using Jenkins, Spinnaker, Ansible, BitBucket, Splunk, and Datadog; Developing custom Terraform modules to deploy AWS services required by individual applications; Developing custom Terraform modules to configure existing AWS infrastructure; Troubleshooting and resolving Terraform errors; Implementing and troubleshooting infrastructure components such as networking, cloud services, orchestration tools, containerization, compute and storage systems; Installing, deploying, and configuring middleware solutions including NGINX; Tomcat; Apache HTTP Server; IBM WebSphere Application Server; IBM HTTP Server; Managing keystores; Tweaking performance of middleware implementation; Creating middleware containers to be used in Docker; Troubleshooting issues related to middleware; Providing application teams support for specific middleware configurations required by their application.
