Job Description
As a Software Engineer within the Manufacturing Domain, you will be part of a global team responsible for architectural decisions, software development, and technology deployment across all LEGO® manufacturing sites worldwide.
You will work within the Packing area, the final step of our manufacturing process. Here, completed LEGO® bricks are placed into paper bags, packed into product boxes, and stacked onto pallets ready for distribution. Our teams support hundreds of packing lines globally, where efficiency, precision, and reliability are critical.
Our software solutions act as key interfaces between manufacturing preparation and execution, collecting and analyzing data that helps optimize production, improve operational flow, and enable scalable, data-driven decision-making across factories worldwide. By integrating advanced technologies and streamlined operations, we help transform manufacturing and enhance productivity at a global scale.
This role includes travel approximately three times per year, typically for around one week at a time, to collaborate closely with factories and stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Develop, operate, and maintain robust, scalable software solutions used in factories across the globe
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology choices within the Packing domain
- Actively nurture and promote a strong engineering culture, with a focus on quality and craftsmanship
- Explore emerging technologies and development methods, identifying opportunities to evolve our platforms
- Embrace DevSecOps principles: You build it, you own it, and you run it
- Ensure secure code and security by design throughout the development lifecycle
- Enable security and privacy by design in a pragmatic, non-blocking way
- Take ownership of your continuous professional and technical development

You will be part of the Software Engineering competence group within the global Manufacturing Technology domain, working closely with product managers, engineers, and manufacturing stakeholders to deliver software and technology solutions that support all LEGO® manufacturing sites worldwide.
Do You Have What It Takes?
We imagine that you bring:
- Solid experience in software development and architecture
- Experience with a modern object-oriented programming language, such as C#
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks, such as React
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, related services, and architectural design patterns
- Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure
- Familiarity with modern technology stacks, including event-driven architectures and microservices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and git-based source control
- Experience working with agile development methodologies
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with test-driven development (TDD)
- A collaborative mindset, with an interest in supporting and guiding others
