Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our digital engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in banking and digital product development, with a proven track record of managing large-scale software engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of software engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality digital banking products.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of digital banking solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and operations, to drive the successful execution of digital initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic roadmap for digital engineering, focusing on innovation, scalability, and performance.
  • Ensure the adoption of best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Mentor and develop engineering talent, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and timelines to ensure the successful delivery of projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of overall experience in software engineering, with at least 5+ years in digital product development.
  • Extensive experience in the banking industry, with a deep understanding of digital banking technologies and trends.
  • Proven track record of leading and managing large engineering teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of modern software development practices, including Agile, DevOps, and cloud computing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, with a strong focus on delivering results.

Specific Technologies Required:

  • Programming Languages: JavaScript, Java, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go
  • Frameworks: Spring Boot, Angular, React
  • Databases: Open Source RDBMS (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
  • Cloud Platforms: AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
  • DevOps Tools: Jenkins, Git, Terraform, Ansible
  • Other Technologies: Microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, GraphQL

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Cycle Time: Measure the time taken to complete a specific task or user story, aiming for continuous improvement and efficiency.
  • Code Coverage: Track the percentage of source code covered by automated tests to ensure high-quality and reliable code.
  • Deployment Frequency: Monitor how often code is deployed to production, aiming for frequent and reliable releases.
  • Change Failure Rate (CFR): Measure the percentage of changes that result in a failure in production, aiming to minimize disruptions.
  • Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR): Track the average time taken to recover from a production failure, aiming for quick resolutions.
  • Defect Rate: Monitor the number of defects found in the software, aiming to reduce the number of bugs and improve overall quality.
  • Team Velocity: Measure the amount of work completed by the team in a given sprint, aiming for consistent and predictable delivery.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Gather feedback from customers to measure their satisfaction with the digital banking products, aiming to continuously improve user experience.
