Software Engineering Manager I (Program Manager) 

Kroll is looking for Program Manager to join its Global Technology Services team. This position will provide strategic leadership for the vision, execution and growth of technology programs and projects for Infrastructure, Networking, Desktop Engineering, Service Desk and DevOps. Collaboratively develop and execute project plans and ensure that all parties are accomplishing tasks on schedule and on budget.  An ideal candidate must prove to be an excellent leader and have experience with portfolio, program and resource management gained through managing large and complex projects.  We are looking for a candidate currently working as a Program Manager, Senior Project Manager (ScrumMaster) who has solid foundational experience ready to take the next step in their career. This role will work from office in 2pm – 11pm IST shift.

The day-to-day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Facilitate long range strategic planning for the program, including goal setting and objectives

  • Partner with business sponsors to define success metrics and criteria

  • Evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value

  • Serve as cross-functional project manager of large-scale, or series of mid-scale, complex project(s) that will involve multiple internal and external stakeholders

    • Develop the project charter, integrated project plan, resource plan, contingency plan, and related project management artifacts

    • Manage detailed plans across the critical path to deliverance of project objectives, engaging with stakeholders and critically assessing requirements

    • Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure all milestones and deadlines are met 

    • Assist in requirement gathering and documentation for new projects

    • Actively participate in the quality assurance process to ensure that the project fulfills requirement documentation

    • Continually manage project dependencies, ensuring smooth and timely delivery of the key milestones

    • Anticipate issues and delays, and evaluate trade-offs between project size and complexity, cost, urgency, risk, and stakeholder value, effectively assessing and resolving high priority project risks

    • Lead application implementation including release management activities

  • Define and report on project progress and achievement of project milestones, regularly updating key and senior stakeholders on project status

  • Validate, track and forecast financial forecasts and provide on-going reconciliation of project expenditures and key financial metrics against targets, applying insights from the business to make recommendations to effectively manage budget

  • Develop and implement improvements to processes and best practices 

  • Communicate in an effective manner that promotes healthy relationships with both internal and external team members

  • Stay current with new technologies and evaluation of tools

Essential traits:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Overall experience of 8-10 years with min. 2-4 years of experience in project management or directly relevant position 

  • Certifications preferred, include Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP)

  • Understand fundamentals of software development processes and procedures, technology integrations and acquisitions

  • Expert knowledge of financial management, risk, and project management methodologies

  • Must be detailed and process-oriented requiring demonstrated excellence in project management

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and proven ability to work effectively with all organizational levels

  • Strong planning, organizational, and coaching skills

  • Experience with program management tools such as Service Now, Microsoft suite or equivalent 

  • Experience with Azure DevOps or similar issue tracking software
