Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Software Engineer - Level 3/4 to join our team in either Manhattan Beach, CA, Fairfax, VA, Aurora, CO, or Morrisville, NC.
In this role, you will be on the Space Vehicle Management team where you will design, develop, document, refactor, test, and debug applications software for a Ground Segment. You will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission.
The successful candidate will have Software development experience, with the ability to digest changes and synthesize them into working designs, generate efficient code according to the specifications, and adapt to changes as necessary that are driven by bugs or specification updates or the customer. You will be expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment, and to be highly self-motivated, reporting information to leads and the customer. You will be expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment that continues to grow.
This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.
Basic Qualifications:
Software Engineer - Level 3: 5 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 3 years with Master's degree; 1 year with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Software Engineer - Level 4: 8 years of relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; 6 years with Master's degree; 4 years with PhD; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at the time of application, and ability to successfully pass a polygraph
Experience with Java, C++ and Python (or similar scripting language) in a cloud environment
Experience with Agile development methodologies
Automated testing experience
Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
STEM degree
Adjudicated CI or FS polygraph
Proficient with Python, Perl, Rust, Docker/Kubernetes, Cloud, DevOps, CI/CD
Proficient with Atlassian tools (i.e., Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Familiar with Kubernetes cluster software deployment
Experience with automated test tools (i.e., Cucumber, Behave, Eggplant, Selenium, Cypress)
Experience developing software for complex near real-time ground systems in mission domain
Skills Required
