SUSE Rancher Engineering team has attracted top talent from across the globe and continues to grow as a distributed team steeped in open-source culture.  We are on a mission to support our customers to innovate everywhere, with the power of Kubernetes and we help enterprises deliver Kubernetes-as-a-Service across any infrastructure.
Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, analyze, and fix software defects reported by SUSE customers and partners.
• Coordinate the defect-resolution process in Rancher product.
• Evaluation of customer-reported issues coming primarily from L1 and L2 support.
• Coordination of and active involvement in bug-fixing process.
• Technical analysis of issues and bugs in Container Management product.
• Fixing code defects and publishing patches.
• Collaborate with development teams to resolve product issues and understand product goals.
• Write content for the SUSE Rancher knowledge base and create or maintain support tooling that is valuable to colleagues and customers.

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 6+ years of related work experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Extended Linux knowledge in general; familiarity with Linux administration.
• Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes in either Linux or Windows environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in working in a virtual and distributed environment.
• Demonstrable scripting experience
• Experience in CI/CD pipeline tools like Jenkins, Drone, Cirrus-CI, or Github Actions
• Experience with Distributed systems, IaaS/PaaS (infrastructure-as-a-service and platform-as-a-service).
• Experience with Cloud Providers such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and managed Kubernetes services like EKS, AKS, or GKE
• Experience with containers and container orchestration (Rancher, Kubernetes, or Docker).
• Familiarity with cloud native applications
• Proficiency in Bash

Nice to have:

• Proficiency in Kubernetes and helm
• Experience with automation
• Experience with automation around Public Clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure or others)
• Experience with Python, JavaScript, or Go
• Experience  with Cypress
• Experience with GitHub Actions
• Experience with terraform
• Experience in Agile process
• Familiarity with Rancher and Docker
