This is an exciting opportunity to join the SUSE AI Engineering team, where you’ll be at the forefront of AI innovation. We are developing an open platform designed to run and manage AI workloads, enabling enterprises to operate securely, reliably, and at scale. As part of this dynamic team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of AI technology.

Who are you?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer who is passionate about Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models (LLMs). You are driven by the desire to build solutions that simplify the adoption of these technologies for enterprises. You thrive on challenges, consistently delivering innovative solutions that transform raw prototypes into enterprise-grade products and services. Your ability to quickly enhance and refine your work is what sets you apart.

As a strong advocate for open source, you believe in the value it brings to enterprises. You have hands-on experience with open-source development, a passion for engaging with the community, and a proven track record of collaborating across teams and disciplines.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain solutions centered around the Kubernetes container orchestration platform and its ecosystem of projects.

• Be willing to learn new technologies you may not be familiar with. We know no one can be an expert in every aspect of Kubernetes or the broader cloud native ecosystem, but we are looking for someone who is open to new challenges.

• Resolve issues uncovered in the production deployment of SUSE AI.

• Implement rigorous testing, monitoring, and security practices to ensure solutions meet the highest quality standards.

• Participate in design meetings, architecture sessions, and code reviews to ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Fluency in languages such as Go, Rust, Python etc.

• Expertise with Linux Containers and the Kubernetes ecosystem.

• Expertise with Kubernetes extensibility tools, frameworks.

• Good knowledge and experience with popular Linux distributions such as SUSE Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL etc.

• Strong experience with Source Code Management systems such as GitHub and GitLab, along with CI/CD and GitOps pipelines.

• Expertise with IAC frameworks such as Terraform and Ansible, and  GitOps frameworks such as ArgoCD, Rancher Fleet is a big plus.

• Expertise working in on-prem, bare metal and cloud environments.

• A collaborative mindset with a proven ability to work across diverse teams and disciplines.

• Exceptional communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences inside and outside the company.

• Preferably CKAD/CKA certified.
