Software Engineer (Java)

Lone Wolf is looking to hire a Software Engineer skilled with constructing web applications using Java and React.js. You will be part of a fast-moving, lean product development team supporting the delivery of an industry leading real estate platform. Your work will focus on developing products and features for our users that are simple, intuitive to use, easy to maintain, responsive, reliable, scalable and performant. You will play a central role in the software development life cycle to improve the end-to-end experience and shape the vision of our innovative products.

·         Develop high quality maintainable and scalable SaaS solutions on the Java technology stack.

·         Work with UI designers and product owners to implement new features, develop new products, and address bugs.

·         Collaborate with a team of full stack developers to design, develop, unit test, and support new features.

·         Deliver an exceptional user experience to our customers, through the delivery of products and services with strong and extendable design patterns.

·         Identify technical requirements and participate in peer reviews of solution design and related code.

·         Proactively learn product frameworks and code base; continually improve upon existing applications and learn new technologies.

·         Justify decisions made within the code being delivered and take ownership of any output.

·         Participate in performance tuning, testing, refactoring, usability, and automation; support, maintain, and help document software functionality.

·         Maintain coding, compliance, and security standards.

·         Provide maintenance and on-going support of past and future technical solutions.

1.       4-6+ years of experience developing and delivering large scale distributed systems

2.       4-6+ years of experience with Java and Java Spring Boot Framework

3.       2+ years of experience with React (+ familiarity with React Hooks), TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3

·         Completion of a post-secondary program in Computer Science or a related discipline

·         Understanding of the DRY, SOLID and KISS principles of software development

·         Prior experience with relational - preferably MSSQL - and non-relational database technologies

·         Prior experience with at least one major IaaS and/or PaaS technology - preferably AWS

·         Prior experience with a pub/sub messaging system

·         Background in high-growth Agile SaaS-based engineering organizations

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities

·         Ability to clearly explain and justify ideas when faced with competing alternatives

·         Ability to communicate and apply common design patterns across a wide range of technical problems
