Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Senior Software Engineer to work to work at the forefront of our cloud modernization within our Credit & Verification Services.

As a senior developer in a agile engineering team that delivers the product backlog of Ascend Cloud Foundation Platform. You will work closely with other Software Engineers to both maintain existing systems and build our cloud-native microservices and web applications using the latest technologies and architectural patterns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will be #LI-hybrid based in Hyderabad and reporting to Director Engineering.
  • Working as a senior software developer in an agile team to deliver high-quality software solutions within agreed timelines, ensuring alignment with business requirements and agile principles.
  • Translating business requirements to clean, scalable code ensuring minimal defects.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members to design, develop, test, and release.
  • Collaborate in development processes and practices, a culture of continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation for code, processes, and system architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical expertise, code reviews.
  • Ensure comprehensive test coverage by writing and reviewing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and automating testing processes where possible.
  • Monitor and address code quality issues, leveraging static code analysis tools to identify and fix potential problems early.
  • Drive the adoption of DevSecOps practices, ensuring security is integrated into early stages of the software development lifecycle.

 

Qualifications

  • Qualified with a degree in B.Sc. in Computer Science, MCA in Computer Science, Bachelor of Technology in Engineering, or higher.
  • 4 + years of active hands-on experience in a developer role within software engineering.
  • Proven experience in building secure, mission-critical, high-volume transaction web-based software systems in regulated environments such as finance and insurance industries.
  • Proficient in translating business requirements into clean, scalable code, adhering to design patterns and security best practices.
  • Strong individual contributor and team player, capable of collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
  • Hands‑on expertise in .NET, Java (Spring/Micronaut/Quarkus), or Go, building high‑quality, scalable, secure APIs within micro services architectures. Preference for technology‑ and language‑agnostic engineers.
  • Minimum 2+ years of practical experience with AWS, including strong understanding of server less concepts and cloud‑native services. AWS certifications are preferred.
  • Expertise in writing quality unit test cases using NUNIT with knowledge of Mocking frameworks. Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD).
  • Experience in writing integration test cases using Behaviour Driven Development (BDD).
  • Building scalable, maintainable, and performant REST/SOAP/gRPC APIs with micro services.
  • Experience in identifying, creating, maintaining and reusing frameworks / libraries whenever possible.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing applications on public cloud platforms, AWS.
  • Strong understanding of clean code, clean architecture, SOLID principles, and design patterns.
  • Experience with any of NOSQL or SQL Databases.
  • Experience with containers, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Proficiency with any source control tool preferably git (Bitbucket, GitHub, or GitLab).
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) practices.
  • Experience having worked in an agile team using either Scrum or KANBAN.
  • Experience on static code quality analysis tools & vulnerability management.
