Position Summary

As a Software Intern, you will be part of global platform development team at Light and Wonder and will be working closely with our experienced developers to design, develop, and maintain software applications. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with C/C++, C# and modern web UI development technologies and be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle. The role is to assist in multiple areas as needed to help the department function efficiently and choice of technologies to work will not be limited to as said before.

Job Description:

The person in this position works in a temporary or part time position with an emphasis on on-the-job training and is 21 years old or older and must reside in Las Vegas, NV. This role is not open to candidates that would require relocation.

Job Summary:

You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with C/C++, C# and web UI development technologies and be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using C++ and C# for Linux, Windows, and Android platforms under the mentorship of experienced developers.

  • Assist in defining, designing, and documenting new features, tools and utilities.

  • Troubleshoot and debug applications to optimize performance and ensure reliability.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, adherence to coding standards, and practices.

  • Work closely with QA teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality software.

  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation within the team.

  • Any other reasonable activity required by management to work on defined tasks including application of independent judgement.

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.

  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience with C++/C# and similar languages.

  • Experience developing applications for Windows, Linux, and/or Android platforms.

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns.

  • Familiarity in using development tools and environments (e.g., Visual Studio, Android Studio, GCC).

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

  • Understanding of software development best practices, including CI/CD.

  • Experience with scripting languages like python, batch, JavaScript, and typescript.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Education:

Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Or Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Computer Engineering (BSCE) or Electronics Engineering Technology (BSEET), or in a related field. Those who are about to complete their degree are also eligible to apply. Equivalent experience will be considered.
