About the Internship

This is a 12-week, in-person internship based in our San Francisco office.

As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll own a meaningful project that contributes directly to Juicebox’s product or engineering infrastructure. You won’t be working on a hypothetical intern assignment: you’ll build alongside our engineers, ship real work, and see how customers use what you create.

Depending on your interests and the needs of the team, you might work on questions like:

  • How can we improve the quality and ranking of our search results?

  • What new filters or data sources could make our search engine more powerful?

  • How can we use LLMs to make recruiters dramatically more effective?

  • How can we improve our internal tools, developer experience, or testing infrastructure?

  • How can we delight a new user in their first few minutes with Juicebox?

Recent engineering projects have included fine-tuning models to extract insights from profiles, building feedback loops to improve search queries, and shipping new product experiences from end to end.

Our stack includes Next.js, React, Node.js, OpenSearch, AWS SQS, Spark, and a variety of inference providers and LLMs. You don’t need experience with every part of our stack, but you should be excited to learn quickly by building.

What You’ll Experience

You’ll have both a manager and a mentor throughout the summer:

  • Your manager will help scope your project, give you regular feedback, and support your performance and growth.

  • Your mentor will be an additional resource for technical guidance, navigating Juicebox, and making the most of your internship.

You’ll also participate in a small intern cohort with programming such as:

  • Practical sessions on getting the most from 1:1s and giving and receiving feedback

  • Conversations with Juicebox leaders, founders, and investors

  • Cohort outings and a dinner with our executive team

  • An end-of-summer demo where you’ll share what you built

About You

  • You are currently pursuing a degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field—or have developed equivalent skills through your own experience.

  • You’ve built something from scratch, whether through a class, personal project, research, internship, startup, or open-source contribution.

  • You enjoy solving ambiguous problems and learning by building.

  • You take ownership, ask thoughtful questions, and are comfortable seeking feedback.

  • You care about the people using what you build—not just whether the code works.

  • You have experience programming in at least one language and a solid understanding of core computer science concepts.

  • You can work from our San Francisco office for the full 12-week internship.

You do not need to have used our exact stack before. We care more about your curiosity, technical foundation, pace of learning, and the quality of what you’ve built.
