About Xaira Therapeutics
Xaira is an innovative biotech startup focused on leveraging AI to transform drug discovery and development. About the Role
The engineering team at Xaira works on critical systems throughout Xaira, and we are looking for a senior software engineer with cloud engineering experience to build our internal platform to support engineers, AI scientists, and a cutting edge AI-powered biotechnology company.
We are a small, pragmatic team and you will find yourself:
- Collaborating with world experts in AI and Life sciences regularly.
- Shipping code daily, with a culture of learning from mistakes and iterating quickly.
- Being expected and empowered to work autonomously.
- Coming onsite to our office (and lab!) - this is not a remote position.
Key Responsibilities
These are examples of areas that we’ll want you to take point on:
- IaC and cloud resource deployment.
- Improving the supporting tooling around core software asset types at Xaira (packages, services, etc.)
- Improving our developer experience tooling, such as CICD.
- Building out our HPC GPU cluster used for large scale model training.
We do expect our engineers to work across the company, and you should expect to have the opportunity to work on and learn about systems that touch the following areas of the company:
- Scientific code and research engineering for accelerating scientific progress.
- Large scale AI model inference and tooling.
- Data warehousing and transport for large biological datasets.
- Lab information management and supporting automation engineering.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science or related field
- 6+ years of experience as a software engineer
- 2+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or developer platform teams
- Expertise in an IaC tool such as terraform
- Familiarity with AWS compute, persistence, and networking technologies
- Experience with python, git
- Prior experience with HPC/GPU cluster performance for AI workloads.
- Deep understanding of AWS and compute deployment options.
- Prior experience developing infrastructure for biotech/life sciences workloads.
Compensation
We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package, seeking to provide an open, flexible, and friendly work environment to empower employees and provide them with a platform to develop their long-term careers. A Summary of Benefits is available for all applicants. We offer a competitive package that includes base salary, bonus, and equity. The base pay range for this position is expected to be $140,000 - $200,000 annually; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the market, job-related knowledge, skills and capabilities, and experience.
