Job Description
As a Software Engineer III on the Digital Communications team, you will be a key contributor on an engineering team that's responsible for the creation, maintenance, and enhancement of a testing frameworks for an application that processes millions of incoming transactions per day and that produces digital communications for our JPMorgan & Chase Banking customers in near real time.
Digital Communications as a product supports all Lines of Business within the Consumer & Commercial Banking organization of JPMC. Our systems are responsible for the orchestration and delivery of nearly 1 billion SMS Texts, Push Notifications, & Emails per month based upon a large number of templates designed by our business & product partners.
Job Responsibilities:
- Developing & delivering quality applications on-time according to requirements & roadmap commitments
- Writing & maintaining high quality test cases & maintaining a complete testing inventory and high quality code that will serve as an example for other engineers
- Working with multiple AGILE teams to help them understand & implement proper test management & test writing practices
- Maintaining a high quality & up-to-date testing environment that meets business testing requirements
- Reviewing & sharing areas of technical improvement within existing applications & testing infrastructures
- Maintaining technical testing knowledge & operational support models by documenting our applications
- Providing regular updates & visualization on the status of unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance testing
- Understanding & adhering to AGILE ceremonies, aligning to the DoD, & DoR, to proper Change, Release, & Problem Management best practices
- Taking part in regular capacity & roadmap planning sessions based upon known velocity
- Engaging with Product Partners to clarify business requirements & achieving go-live Signoff
- Continuously automating the CI/CD pipeline & engaging in post deployment validation best practices
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- BS/BA degree plus 4+ years of proven professional experience with JAVA/SpringBoot and proven professional experience with standardized testing architectures & best practices
- Having excellent knowledge of & experience with event driven, microservice, REST/API, & cloud based testing architectures
- Having excellent knowledge of & experience with standard application architectures, clean, & coding best practices
- Having excellent knowledge of & experience with databases, either relational or NoSQL (Cassandra)
- Having very good knowledge of & experience with Kafka and/or other message based processing technologies
- Having excellent knowledge of & experience with standard testing languages & tools like:
- Java, Gherkin, Selenium, Cucumber Selenium Web Driver, Cucumber, Eclipse IDE, Maven, Gradle , HTML, DOM
- Having excellent knowledge of & experience with the test pyramid (unit, component, integration, E2E, performance, PVT)
- Having excellent knowledge of & experience with SoapUI , Postman and Performance test with Blaze meter or similar tools
- Having excellent knowledge of & experience with maintaining test data & test management structures (test scenarios & cases)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
- Experience with Cockroach databases
- Experience with AWS & Kubernetes Cloud Technologies
- Experience with high-volume multi-threaded processing environments
