As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Personalization and Insights team, you will build and support high throughput, low latency applications which leverage state of the art machine learning architectures, and which are deployed in AWS.
Job responsibilities
- Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
- Provides technical guidance and direction to junior engineers
- Contributes to team level decisions regarding design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
- Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more functional areas
- Contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Influences peers and junior developers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
- Adds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- BS degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
- 5+ years applied experience
- Hands-on software development experience in an Object-Oriented programming language (such as Java, C++, Python) and SQL.
- Requires knowledge and experience in two of the following areas, with developing knowledge in the others.
- High-throughput, low-latency micro service development leveraging AWS services such EKS, ECS, Fargate, etc.
- High throughput near real time stream processing with services such Kinesis or Flinketc.
- High volume feature engineering with services such Spark EMR.
- Solid experience in containers (docker ecosystem), container orchestration systems [Kubernetes, ECS], DAG orchestration [Airflow, Kubeflow etc]
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Understanding of agile methodologies and knowledge of SDLC including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
- Experience with recommendation and personalization systems is a plus.
