Software Engineer II

Job Description

As Software Engineer II, you’ll work with industry leading Lytx Safety Software, which manages massive amounts of video and data collected from over 700,000 vehicles worldwide and ensures the best possible outcomes by identifying behaviors and events that impact safety. Be responsible for building solutions that collect, organize, and present information for tracking the safety and efficiency of commercial transportation drivers and fleets. You’ll help build the shared platform capabilities every domain team relies on: Schema Registry and Data Contracts, Data Product Catalog, Data Quality and Observability frameworks, and Data Delivery/Subscriptions.

You’ll Get To:

• Implement features in core platform services — Contribute to the Registry, Catalog, Data Quality/Observability, and Delivery services.
• Develop and test APIs — Write clean, well-documented RESTful APIs, unit/integration tests, and maintain SDKs/libraries used by domain teams.
• Support service reliability — Add metrics/logs/traces, help triage incidents, and participate in on-call rotations with guidance.
• Collaborate and learn — Work with senior engineers on designs, follow established patterns, and improve integrations for domain teams.
• Maintain quality standards — Participate in code reviews, follow secure coding practices, and contribute to team documentation/playbooks.
• Debug and optimize — Identify issues, perform root-cause analysis, and make incremental performance improvements in multi-tenant systems.
• Grow platform skills — Learn data contracts, catalog adoption workflows, and quality frameworks used across the organization.

What You’ll Need:

• B.E/B Tech in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
• Enterprise software engineer experience with 2+ years’ building scalable back-end services and web applications
• Expert knowledge of object-oriented design practices and enterprise patterns
• Expert level knowledge C#, .NetCore
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization (Docker; exposure to Kubernetes is a plus).
• Design and development experience with microservices, RESTful APIs
• Expertise working with databases like PostgreSQL, or MongoDB, MS SQL
• Solid understanding of cloud-native development, preferably on AWS (certifications are a plus)
• Experience working with message-based technologies like Kafka, RabbitMQ
• Ability to collaborate across numerous teams and create new strategies to achieve results.
• Expertise with building testable systems using Unit Testing and TDD methodologies
• Agile software development experience
