As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking technology Deposits Platform, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Execute standard software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
- Write secure and high-quality code using Java and other programming languages, with limited guidance.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot applications, considering upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain to enhance automation and value delivery.
- Perform technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and resolve basic complexity issues.
- Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and support secure, stable application development.
- Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems.
- Contribute to a team culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years of applied experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in Java development, with exposure to artificial intelligence (AI) and large language models (LLMs).
- Practical experience in system design, application development, testing (including performance testing), and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Demonstrable ability to code in one or more languages
- Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
- Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile).
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
- Exposure to cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with performance testing tools and frameworks.
- Interest or experience in AI/ML and LLMs integration within enterprise applications.
