- Partner with Product, Design, and QA to build, test, and deploy backend services that power the Playlist ecosystem.
- Work on tightly scoped tasks with mentorship and support while gradually expanding your technical ownership.
- Participate in thoughtful, constructive code reviews and actively contribute to improving engineering practices.
- Take part in team retrospectives, planning, and problem-solving sessions.
- Seek feedback often and use it to elevate your technical skills and teamwork.
- Write testable, maintainable, and well-documented code that aligns with engineering best practices.
- Grow your comfort and expertise in one or more technical areas, taking on increasingly complex work.
- Stay connected to our customers’ needs and take pride in building tools that help studio partners thrive.
- 2–4 years of experience building and supporting large-scale SaaS applications.
- Solid experience with object-oriented languages such as C# or Java.
- Comfortable working in and designing microservices architectures.
- Experience monitoring systems using tools like New Relic, Kibana, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle, design patterns, and Agile methodologies.
- Ability to assess the impact of new features and identify potential risks early.
- Clear, professional communication skills—both written and verbal.
- Detail-oriented, thoughtful, and proactive in your approach to solving problems.
- A collaborative mindset and eagerness to learn from others.
- Backend: Kotlin, Python, C#, Ruby
- Frontend: React
- Databases: SQL and relational database systems
- Monitoring: New Relic, Kibana
- Development: Agile, SDLC best practices
