Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC seeks a Software Engineer II in San Mateo, CA to perform day-to-day tasks on database operation including scaling up, scaling down systems, database upgrades and fixing ad hoc issues to maintain underlying data infrastructure of the PlayStation Network. Requires a Master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent and one (1) year of experience assessing systems responsible for handling common operational tasks and designing solutions to improve the automation used to perform these tasks. Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience enhancing database automation through code using GoLang and writing shell scripts to enhance systems performance with minimal downtime; utilizing Amazon Web Service (AWS) Software Development Kits (SDK) to interact with infrastructure and develop tools to automate tasks; working with NoSQL-style document stores including Cassandra, Aerospike, and Couchbase to improve functionalities of these database technologies; working with AWS services and deploying services on AWS cloud; and utilizing configuration management tools including chef or ansible. Telecommuting and/or working from home may be permissible pursuant to company policies. Sony is an EOE.
Salary range: $194,614.00 – $281,500.00/year
