Software Engineer II (Trust and Safety)
We have an amazing opportunity for qualified candidates to work in our Trust and Safety engineering team. You will work with our Operations and Product teams to design, build and enhance our world-class tools for managing user generated content on our platform.
You'll produce highly scalable and efficient services for ensuring maximum operator efficiency, and leverage AI to automate and aid rapid decision making against reported and detected toxic content. You'll not only be instrumental in making PlayStation a safe place to play, but also contribute to the health of online gaming in general.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain software solutions to ensure the highest levels of trust and safety within the PlayStation ecosystem.
- Collaborate with Operations, Legal, Product and other stakeholders to ensure that our safety operations tooling meets company and regulatory requirements, all while offering innovative solutions to increase efficiency and the well being of our teams.
- Apply your expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve complex problems, ensuring flawless performance and reliability.
- Contribute to PlayStation's future direction by partnering with collaborators to identify alignments, common workflows, propose architectures, and work across multiple regions to achieve them
- Work diligently to improve existing systems and processes, continuously striving for progress and perfection.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3+ years professional experience writing scalable server side code, or full stack applications
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, React, or similar.
- Outstanding problem-solving skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive environment, promoting a culture of teamwork and innovation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey complex technical concepts, able to adapt your style to the differing needs of our partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Current experience of trust and safety practices and technologies
- Understanding and experience working with AI/ML
- Familiar with many AWS technologies
- Strong sense of ownership

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

$145,700—$218,500 USD
