As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial and Investment Bank's Global Banking Tech Team, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation test frameworks for validating applications.
- Own and continuously improve the testing infrastructure and solutions.
- Implement and integrate test tools and frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) to enhance test coverage and reliability.
- Drive test strategy, reinforcing quality and testing throughout the SDLC.
- Collaborate with development, product, and support teams to identify automation gaps and implement solutions.
- Embed automated testing within CI/CD practices using tools like Jenkins, Maven, and Gradle.
- Coordinate testing efforts across teams to ensure delivery of high-quality features.
- Troubleshoot issues across the stack and identify gaps in testing coverage.
- Coach and mentor engineers and product teams to improve their approach to testing.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, Java, Spring Boot, Microservices.
- Deep understanding of BDD/TDD methodologies.
- Experience in performance test automation (e.g., JMeter).
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Maven, Gradle).
- API test automation experience.
- Experience working in agile development environments.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
- Experience with cloud technologies, Docker, Kubernetes and familiarity with React.
