As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset and Wealth management, you are part of an agile team that works to enhance, design, and deliver the software components of the firm's state-of-the-art technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As an emerging member of a software engineering team, you execute software solutions through the design, development, and technical troubleshooting of multiple components within a technical product, application, or system, while gaining the skills and experience needed to grow within your role.
Job responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust backend services using Java, with a focus on scalability and performance.
- Design and implement scalable microservices-based solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to define and implement innovative solutions for product direction and backend architecture.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Optimize applications for maximum performance and scalability.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in backend development.
- Ensure the security and integrity of backend services and data.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Strong proficiency in Java and experience with backend frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot).
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in AWS environments and cloud-based solutions.
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements.
- A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
- Familiarity with code versioning tools such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product owners, and platform teams.

- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies
- Exposure to cloud technologies
