Job summary
As a Software Engineer II at JP Morgan Chase within the Corporate Technology, you are an emerging member of an agile team, designing and delivering technology solutions that drive the firm's success. You will enhance your skills while contributing to secure, stable, and scalable products that support our business objectives.
Job responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Create secure and high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Analyze, develop, test, and support cloud, big data, and Java solutions to fulfill business and technology requirements
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gather, analyze, and synthesize data from large, diverse data sets to drive improvements in software applications and systems
- Contribute to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ applied experience
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages, including Core Java, Spring Boot, and modern programming languages
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline such as big data stack (Spark, S3, Kafka) and cloud technology (AWS)
- Advanced SQL and data management knowledge
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Exposure to cloud technologies
- Knowledge of AWS
