Responsibilities:
- Software development on human-machine interaction (HMI) and mission systems used by flight crew for both in-the-loop and on-the-loop unmanned aircraft
- Collaborate with engineers to create real-time visualization and control of hardware systems
- Collaborate with flight crew to develop and assess usability of the cockpit software and hardware
- Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle including planning, design, implementation, review, testing, documentation, and user evaluation
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with HMI/mission systems development in the aerospace/defense industry
- 5+ years of experience of Full Stack Development (JavaScript/Typescript, React, Angular, RESTful API development, etc.)
- Knowledge of C/C++ Development
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to other Hermeus offices and remote locations to support test campaigns
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Relevant experience and knowledge in the Aerospace industry, including aircraft systems and software standards such as IRIG 106, DO-178C, and OMS/UCI
- Mobile development experience (Android or iOS)
- Experience with GIS / Geospatial Development including tools such as (ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, Cesium, etc)
- Experience with sockets-based network programming including TCP, UDP, multicast
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment

The final iteration of Quarterhorse, Mk 4, will be capable of transitioning from turbofan to ramjet mode utilizing a Hermeus-developed turbine-based combined cycle (TBCC) propulsion system to achieve sustained speeds of Mach 5+.
