As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Employee Platforms team, you will solve complex and broad business problems with simple and straightforward solutions. Through code and cloud infrastructure, you will configure, maintain, monitor, and optimize applications and their associated infrastructure to independently decompose and iteratively improve on existing solutions. You are a significant contributor to your team by sharing your knowledge of end-to-end operations, availability, reliability, and scalability of your application or platform.
Job Responsibilities
- Gain a deep understanding of Oracle HCM modules including Payroll, TLA, Compensation, and Benefits, focusing on functionality and configuration options.
- Regularly update knowledge with the latest Oracle updates and patches.
- Develop and maintain integrations using Oracle Integration Cloud or other middleware solutions.
- Create custom reports and fast formulas to meet business requirements.
- Develop a robust incident management process to quickly identify and resolve issues.
- Use root cause analysis to prevent recurrence of issues.
- Guide and assist others in building appropriate level designs and gaining consensus from peers.
- Support and maintain the availability of other HR applications (Non HCM) integrated with Oracle HCM.
- Adopt Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles such as error budgets, blameless postmortems, and automation.
- Write clear, detailed, and effective runbooks to document operational processes and procedures.
- Design systems with redundancy and failover capabilities to ensure high availability, and use load testing and monitoring tools to ensure scalability.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience.
- Hnads on experience on Oracle HCM.
- Proficient in site reliability culture and principles, with familiarity in implementing site reliability within an application or platform.
- Good understanding of SQL and database technology.
- Good understanding of Oracle HCM tools and capabilities, including Oracle BI Publisher, Oracle OTB, Oracle HCM Fast Formula, Oracle HCM Extract, Oracle HDL, PBL, and Spreadsheet loader.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Detail-oriented and a team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Ready to work in multiple shifts (Morning and Afternoon) and weekends on a rotational basis.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Demonstrate familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
- Exhibit exposure to cloud technologies like AWS and Terraform.
- Apply knowledge of Python, web practices, and monitoring tools.
- Contribute to innovative product ideas during brainstorming sessions.
