Ethoca Smart Subscriptions Overview
Ethoca Smart Subscriptions, part of Mastercard's Consumer Clarity suite, enables issuers to provide customers with seamless visibility and control over their subscription payments directly within banking applications.
The team builds scalable, API-driven platforms that identify, enrich, and manage subscription payments, helping reduce disputes, improve transparency, and enhance customer experience.
Engineers work on high-impact, cloud-native solutions integrated with Mastercard's global infrastructure, delivering real-time insights and actions for millions of users.
Role
• Developer with adequate skills and experience delivering design/code of high quality.• Build full-stack solutions using microservices, event-driven architectures and cloud-native technologies• Ensure quality, performance, security, and other NFR benchmarks• Mentor and guide engineering teams; drive adoption of best practices and new technologies• Implement coding best practices. Implement code quality gates as per the program norms. • Lead initiatives to improve automation, engineering efficiency and product quality• Drive POCs and technology decisions aligned with business and platform needs.
All About You
• 6+ years of experience as a hands-on technologist with strong Object-Oriented Design and clean coding practices in Java (SOLID principles)• Strong expertise in microservices, event-driven architecture and scalable system design• Experience with Spring Boot, cloud platforms and Agile (SAFe) delivery models• Proven experience in building real-time, high-scale applications• Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to design innovative, scalable solutions• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across global teams• Coordinate with various groups at Mastercard to ensure success of the project.
Preferred Skills / Experience
• Java: J2EE, Spring Boot, Hibernate, JPA• Frontend: Angular / React, JavaScript, HTML, CSS• Distributed systems: caching, messaging/event frameworks• Database: PostgreSQL (optimized SQL development)• API design and implementation• CI/CD and cloud-native development practices• Experience delivering enterprise-grade software
