The 3rd Party Estimates and Fundamentals (3P E/F) Team in Manila is seeking a talented and highly motivated engineer for the role of Software Engineer.
The right candidate will have a solid software engineering background that clearly demonstrates significant contributions to several development projects. Excellent technical, interpersonal and organizational skills combined with an understanding of the software development lifecycle are essential. The 3P E/F Team is responsible for maintaining multiple high-usage, high-value, critical content sets, among which are QUICK, Nikkei, Toyo Keizai, Compustat, First Call, I/B/E/S, and Reuters. Nearly all of these systems make use of custom C++ logic for both FQL and Screening. Engineering duties include the technical design, implementation, and support of the database update processes and infrastructure for improved scalability, performance, and functionality. The engineer will be required to learn, answer questions about, and modify legacy code and behavior.

Communicate and collaborate with product developers, direct manager and engineering peers to develop the correct solutions
Effective project planning and development of expected solutions.
Respond to bugs and requests for product development through internal systems
Effective engagement in development and feedback life cycle
Participate in design discussions and brainstorming of ideas to improve and develop new features.
Gain broader proficiency for the product and demonstrate ability to contribute to forward direction.

Has repeatedly developed, tested and deployed high quality, stable changes with success and in a timely manner
Proven ability to adapt to changes in requirements and learn new tools and practices where needed
Proven ability to describe FactSet’s business, client base and where their work fits into the bigger picture.
Ability to contribute to code review feedback for other engineers and contribute to forward design ideas
Ability to communicate effectively with peers within the organization
