ClubLabs is the digital acceleration team for Automobile Club of Southern California, also known as, AAA. We are the team responsible for building intuitive customer experiences across the organization’s insurance, membership, financial, emergency roadside, and travel services. We’re a team of engineers, designers, researchers and product managers within AAA delivering maximum value to our members and business for a smarter future.
As our Software Engineer, you will be a project mover, working as part of a pair programming team that will tackle insurance systems using test-driven development for a large, multistate auto club.
Please Note: This role is expected to participate in an on-call rotation, shared among the team. We keep it balanced and manageable.
What You’ll Do
Every day, you will be expected to apply and share your previous experience with the rest of your team, taking ownership of problems and solutions and moving the projects forward quickly and correctly.
You have the aptitude and the experience not only to find solutions, but to find the right solutions for the problems at hand. You should be able to explain the solution and why it is the best one to people with less experience or technical knowledge.
You’re willing to learn from others and trade-off knowledge with members of your team.
What You’ll Need
To thrive in this role, you must understand cloud computing, serverless architecture, and system design. You have experience with full-stack front-end and back-end development.
You want to grow and advance as an engineer and as part of an engineering team.
You work with integrity and enjoy collaboration and are comfortable in a hybrid work environment.
You have worked previously with an Agile team or understand these concepts. You expect to participate in daily standup meetings, you’ll complete your projects or stories during our sprints, and you’re ready to meet frequent deployment deadlines.

Experience with Typescript
Experience with Node.js
Experience with React (Angular, Vue, and Svelte are fine)
Experience with AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB) (GCP and Azure are fine)
Experience with test-driven development
Experience with observability/logging platforms (Splunk, Datadog)

The starting pay range for this position is:
$117,600.00 - $156,400.00Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
