We have an opportunity for a full stack Software Engineer to join our Lineups & Metadata org. We are looking for hands-on engineers with proven experience developing, running, and scaling applications and platforms in a production environment. You will work on a highly-focused engineering team implementing applications, platforms, microservices, and handling large sets of data.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter and motivated to understand and leverage cutting edge technologies that will bring value to the organization. You will also play a vital role driving software innovations.
Responsibilities
- Be a part of a high performing team developing scalable, reliable, and cost-effective software solutions with an emphasis on quality, performance, resilience, and efficiency.
- Work with Product, Operations, and Engineering stakeholders to understand the production and scalability requirements of assigned projects.
- Work on several projects with multiple dependencies and complex requirements upstream and downstream and with stakeholders across teams.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, deployment, and operation of our production applications, platforms, and pipelines.
REQUIREMENTS:
- A graduate degree in computer science, or similar discipline.
- 2-4 years of professional software development experience delivering high quality standalone and web applications, platforms, and micro services.
- Proficiency with Ruby on Rails (requirement/use will diminish over time).
- Proficiency with Go (requirement/use will increase over time).
- Proficiency with Javascript/Typescript and React (vue.js experience short term)
- Experience with a wide variety of databases (relational, non-relational, graph, in-memory). Preferred PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and Elasticsearch knowledge.
- Experience with cloud implementation & architecture, container technologies, and orchestration tools, specifically using AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform, as well as general DevOps.
- Experience designing and implementing APIs, complex microservices, system architecture, and handling big data.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
