In this position...
Looking for a motivated embedded software engineer who is familiar with both motor controls software and functional safety software. Someone who is ready to jump in and help resolve software and calibration issues at different test setups, who is both a great team player and an individual contributor. Someone who is willing to study different versions of inverter hardware, understand the impact on the low-level drivers and develop appropriate functional safety algorithms accordingly.
What you'll do...
- Apply ISO 26262 to develop functional safety software for motor controls
- Develop and maintain functional safety software calibration
- Design and execute test methods to validate functional safety software using HIL and SIL
- Assist in the troubleshooting of functional safety software and calibration issues, both in development and in production
- Support interface requirement specification development
- Collaborate with the functional safety teams to ensure requirement traceability
- Support low-level driver integration and troubleshooting
- Support bench testing validation of each new low-level driver package
- Support all motor controls software release processes
- Create and execute data post-processing scripts
- Support motor controls software testing in HIL, dynamometer lab and vehicle
- Propose technical solutions to both functional safety and motor controls issues
Qualifications
You'll have...
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science, or related degree, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in Embedded C, Python, and Matlab
Even better, you may have...
- 3+ years of experience with motor controls software is a plus
- 1+ years of experience with ISO 26262 is a plus
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Understanding of Hybrid Vehicle operation is a plus

This position is a salary grades 6-8 and ranges from $85,400-$192,900.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
