Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack (TypeScript, React, AWS)

As a core member of our software engineering team, you will design, build, and scale the services and applications that power Xealth’s EHR integrations and clinical workflows. You’ll apply solid computer science fundamentals to solve complex problems in distributed systems, data modeling, and API design.

• Design and Develop Core Services: Build robust, maintainable backend services in TypeScript/Node.js and other modern technologies that power our EHR integrations and clinical workflow automation.
• Distributed Systems and Cloud Architecture: Collaborate with DevOps engineers to deploy and operate microservices in AWS using containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, ECS).
• Technical Leadership: Contribute to code reviews, system design discussions, and technical decisions that raise the engineering bar across the team.
• Automation and AI in Development: Use AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot to streamline development, increase quality, and accelerate delivery.
• Patient Engagement Services: Design, build, and scale key services handling patient notifications, click tracking, and other critical user engagement workflows.
• Provider and Patient facing applications: Own the development and enhancement of our provider- and patient-facing applications, building intuitive and scalable user interfaces with React.
• Integrate Patient Education Vendors: Develop and maintain reliable, scalable integrations with third-party patient education content providers and partners.

We’re looking for a software engineer with strong computer science fundamentals — someone who’s comfortable reasoning about systems, data, and code structure at scale, and who’s excited to apply those skills in healthcare.

• Software Engineering Expertise: 3-5 years of professional experience building production software systems using TypeScript/JavaScript.  
• CS Fundamentals: Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, object-oriented design, concurrency, and distributed systems.
• API and Integration Development: Hands-on experience designing and building RESTful or event-driven APIs with Node.js/Nest/Express.
• Troubleshooting and Debugging: Proficient in diagnosing complex issues across distributed services using logs, traces, and performance metrics.
• Collaboration and Agility: Comfortable working in an agile startup environment, balancing quality with rapid iteration.
• Front-End Development: Demonstrated ability to build, test, and deploy modern, scalable web applications using React and TypeScript, with expertise in the unique engineering and performance challenges of both mobile and desktop web platforms.

• Prior experience in a healthcare startup or health data integration platform.
• Familiarity with high-throughput messaging platforms or services built for mass-scale user communication.
• Experience with AWS or another cloud vendor, e.g. GCP, Azure
• Experience building applications with Tailwind.css

Compensation & Benefits:

Xealth offers a multi-tiered approach when constructing a highly competitive compensation package. The compensation package would include a base salary, bonus, and a comprehensive suite of benefits. The base salary compensation range for this position is $145,000 - $200,000, depending on geographic market.
