We’re looking for a Frontend/Web App Engineer to help build and maintain a critical web application that enables users to interact with aviation data and make safer, faster decisions. You’ll collaborate with design, product, and backend teams to build performant, intuitive user experiences using modern frontend tools. • Feature Development: Contribute to building new features and enhancements for a web application built in React.

• Data Integration: Work with live and historical data streams to deliver smooth, responsive user experiences.

• Third-Party Tools: Integrate third-party libraries to expand app functionality and speed up development.

• Streaming Features: Support the development of live data streaming and playback capabilities with performance in mind.

• Reusable Components: Write clean, modular code and contribute to our shared UI component library.

• Documentation: Maintain clear documentation for frontend solutions and development practices.

• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, and design teams during planning and reviews.

• Testing: Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliability and high-quality user experiences.

• Proven Frontend Expertise: 3+ years of experience building and deploying high-performance web applications with user-facing features.

• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and experience with React and TypeScript.

• Asynchronous Programming: Strong understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and tools like Axios.

• Data Handling: Proficiency in managing and visualizing data streams efficiently.

• Startup Mentality: Embody a proactive and resourceful mindset, taking initiatives from concept to implementation.

• Performance Optimization: Skill in analyzing and optimizing system performance for scalability and responsiveness.

• Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality, impactful solutions.

• Aviation Enthusiasm: Passion for aviation and a desire to improve air-travel efficiency and safety.

• Geo-Mapping Tools: Experience with online geo-mapping tools such as MapBox or Cesium.

• Streaming Expertise: Knowledge of live data streaming and playback solutions.

This is a hybrid role and requires working from our San Carlos, CA office at least three days a week, with the option to work remotely the remaining days.
