This is a hybrid role in either our NYC or San Francisco office.
We’re seeking a highly senior Software Engineer to join our Engineering Productivity team. In this role, you will lead initiatives that accelerate developer velocity, improve build and test systems, and enable our engineers to deliver high-quality software at scale. You will work cross-functionally with product engineering, and infrastructure to build internal tools and platforms that optimize the entire software development lifecycle.
This is a high-impact role for an experienced engineer who is passionate about developer productivity, enjoys solving systems-level problems, mentoring others, and leading complex, cross-team initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Lead architecture and development of scalable systems that improve build, test, and deployment pipelines.
- Identify and remove bottlenecks in the developer experience, from local development to CI/CD.
- Design and build internal tools, services, and frameworks that enable fast and safe code delivery.
- Own reliability, performance, and scalability of key developer infrastructure systems.
- Drive adoption of modern engineering tools, metrics, and observability across the org.
- Mentor and guide other engineers through technical design reviews, pair programming, and code reviews.
- Advocate for engineering best practices and help shape the future of our platform architecture.
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, including 3+ years in infrastructure, platform, or developer productivity roles.
- Deep expertise in one or more of: CI/CD systems, build/test automation, internal tooling, or configuration management.
- Proficient in at least one high-level language (e.g., Python, Go, Java).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Strong systems thinking and ability to design reliable, maintainable solutions at scale.
- Proven track record of technical leadership and cross-team collaboration.
- Experience working in a monorepo or polyrepo environment at scale.
- Familiarity with Bazel or other modern build systems.
- Experience with metrics-driven engineering and observability tooling (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
Compensation: The base salary range for this role is $237,500 to $270,000 + bonus, equity and US benefits. The actual pay may vary based on factors such as location, experience and skills.
