Job Description
Design, build, and maintain data platform systems for data ingestion (batch and streaming), data warehousing, and data retrieval.
Collaborate with team members (local and remote) to deliver high-quality solutions for our data platform.
Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices to improve code quality and system performance.
Help manage and operate Kubernetes clusters and cloud infrastructure for the data team.
Quickly prototype, implement, and iterate on solutions based on feedback from product managers and stakeholders.
Troubleshoot and debug production issues to ensure reliability and stability of the platform.
Ensure data quality, consistency, and adherence to data governance standards across all data workflows in the platform.
Assist with monitoring, logging, and alerting to support production systems.
Contribute to team knowledge by sharing learnings, past experience, and supporting mentorship within the team.
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and growth-oriented team environment.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
1-3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably building backend, data, or distributed systems.
Strong proficiency in at least one programming language: Python, Java, Go, or similar (polyglot experience welcomed).
Good understanding of software engineering fundamentals, algorithms, and design patterns.
Practical experience in testing, code reviews, version control (Git), and implementing CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to monitoring, logging, alerting, and debugging practices for production-grade systems.
Familiarity with data warehouse technologies and cloud data stores; ability to optimize complex queries.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Experience working with container orchestration (Kubernetes) and Google Cloud Platform is a plus.
