Our client is a healthcare technology company developing AI-enabled medical imaging software. Its engineering team builds the infrastructure that supports clinical workflows and machine learning systems.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this opportunity through the Paraform network. The position is with our client. Own the backend infrastructure as a Software Engineer focused on Core Systems. This is an individual contributor role with responsibility across ingestion, data storage, reliability, and distributed inference.
What you'll do
- Build and operate data ingestion, warehousing, and distributed inference systems.
- Own reliability, observability, debugging, and capacity planning.
- Create CI/CD and deployment automation for a lean engineering team.
- Design systems handling protected health information with encryption, access controls, and audit logging.
- Partner with machine learning engineers on model infrastructure and inference pipelines.
Requirements
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, with substantial production infrastructure ownership.
- Experience designing and operating distributed systems using Go, Python, or Java.
- Hands-on AWS or comparable cloud experience.
- Depth in data pipelines, ETL, warehouses, data lakes, and schema evolution.
- Experience leading multi-quarter technical initiatives, including at least 2 years as a technical lead or lead engineer.
- Ability to weigh reliability, performance, cost, security, and maintainability tradeoffs independently.
Bonus points
- Startup experience.
- HIPAA or protected-health-information handling experience.
- ML infrastructure, model inference, or TypeScript/React experience.
Benefits
Compensation and benefits
- Base salary: USD 215,000 to 275,000 per year.
- Equity: Competitive equity.
Location and work model
- San Francisco, California, United States.
- Five days per week onsite.
