ClickUp is looking for a driven software engineer to join our Core Services team. As a Software Engineer, Core Services at ClickUp, you will help to design and deliver scalable distributed shared tools & services used by all other engineering teams. If you're an accountable, pragmatic, and invested go-getter that thrives when faced with new challenges and enjoys lots of cross-team collaboration...this role is meant for you!

The Role:

• Build upon and integrate customer feedback both internal and external into our API tooling and services.

• Create new architectural foundations and mission critical distributed systems while collaborating with other teams.

• Work within an agile scrum-based engineering team reporting to the Senior Manager of Core Services.

• Uphold the highest levels of customer satisfaction in all things you do.

• Advocate, create, and maintain API governance across engineering through collaboration, automation and outreach.

• Own integrations within our API Gateway layer and API lifecycles from design to production.

• Identify improvements to the design and implementation of various new and existing critical shared services.

• Help to grow our infrastructure engineering organization's shared services relied upon by other engineering teams to accelerate product development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

• Strong understanding of API standards, design approaches, and integration patterns.

• Strong understanding of CAP Theorem and distributed systems design patterns.

• Proficient with TypeScript.

• Proficient with Golang.

• Excellent communication skills.

• Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

• Strong consideration for developer experience in everything you build.

Desirable:

• Pragmatic approach to software design, development & delivery.

• Experience working with Kafka and related event based patterns.

• Experience working with and designing Backend for Frontend (BFF) patterns

• Experience working with modern AI technologies, specifically MCP protocol and standards
