Position Overview

As a Ruby on Rails Engineer at OptionMetrics, you will play a vital role in developing applications that access large financial data sets. You will work closely with our Operations and Product teams to brainstorm and implement next-generation data and analytic information products. Our 100% cloud-based infrastructure allows you to leverage the latest technologies and tools without the burden of technical debt.

Responsibilities

· Develop applications using a variety of programming languages including Ruby On Rails, Python, and Java

· Work with cloud-based technologies to build and maintain applications.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and implement high-quality software solutions.

· Troubleshoot and resolve production support issues.

· Optimize applications for performance and scalability.

· Create and maintain documentation for code, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

· 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails, Python, or Java,

· Proven experience with Ruby on Rails development, including associated libraries and frameworks.

· Proven experience with Heroku environments

- Strong understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and database systems (SQL, PostgreSQL).

· Familiarity with version control systems (Git) and agile development methodologies.

· Knowledge of software testing and debugging techniques.
