The Team
The Optics team is one of the pillars of the Research and Development organization for High-End Transmission Electron Microscopes (TEM). We are committed to develop groundbreaking technologies, modules and software that enable us to deliver outstanding TEM microscopes for our demanding markets and customers.
With the ongoing developments in physics and industry the requirements for optical performance of these TEM microscopes are continuously growing. We are seeking to convert the most promising technological concepts into real products for generating and shaping electron beams for imaging with near-perfect optical performance.
How will you make an impact?
We have a position for a Software Engineer, for one of our key software projects.
Part of a hard-working multi-disciplinary team, you will design and implement software from concepts towards introduction in the factory. Software development takes place in an agile environment where the SAFe framework is applied. You will participate in sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives and sprint planning. Together with the product owner, the scrum master and the development team members you are involved in refining the backlog.
Including innovation and exploration projects, the whole team is involved in the full software development cycle of new features, product improvement and maintenance. Your work can even lead to new patents!
How will you get there?
The ideal candidate for this position enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary technical environment to address sophisticated technical problems. The successful candidate possesses the following combination of education and experience:
- Typically requires BSc or MSc in computer science, software engineering, system engineering, or equivalent.
- Experience in a multidisciplinary high-tech development environment is advantage.
- Experience following software development methodologies such as Scrum Agile and SAFe.
- Knowledge of interoperability between different programming languages.
- Team spirit and excellent interpersonal communicational skills.
- You dare to take initiative and are curious and fast learning
Qualified candidates should have experience programming using the following languages and techniques:
- Proficient in programming using C++, including modern standards like C++17 or newer.
- Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming concepts.
- Experience writing testing/verification for both new and existing code (unit test, smoke test).
