Your role
We are seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer with strong expertise in microcontroller-based software development, system integration, and complex issue debugging. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of embedded systems and demonstrate the ability to independently investigate and resolve software, hardware, and communication-related issues.
We are particularly interested in engineers with proven experience in root-cause analysis, board bring-up, software integration, and troubleshooting of production systems.
Candidates from Automotive, Industrial Automation, Medical Devices, Aerospace, Consumer Electronics, Semiconductor, and other embedded domains are encouraged to apply.
In particular you will be responsible for:
- Develop, integrate, and configure AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) modules, RTE, and application components.
- Implement and validate software components as per AUTOSAR standards
- Perform ECU configuration using tools such as DaVinci Configurator, EB Tresos, or Vector CANdela Studio.
- Develop and debug complex software modules (e.g., Communication, Diagnostic, NVM, Watchdog, OS).
- Ensure seamless integration of MCAL drivers and BSW stack with the application layer.
- Conduct issue analysis, root cause identification, and provide software fixes using debugging tools (CANoe, Trace32, QCAT, or similar).
- Collaborate with system engineers and architects to define interfaces, system design, and software requirements.
- Ensure software compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and OEM quality standards.
- Support validation and verification teams during SIL/HIL testing and ECU-level integration.
- Participate in continuous improvement and optimization of software build and deployment processes.
Your Background
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, Electrical, or Automotive Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in AUTOSAR-based automotive software development.
Technical Expertise
- 5-7 years of product level experience in Embedded Software Development using C.
- Strong understanding of Microcontroller architecture and embedded system fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with one or more Microcontroller families such as Infineon AURIX, Renesas RH850, NXP MPC57xx/S32K, STM32, TI, or equivalent.
- Strong experience in software-hardware integration and peripheral driver development.
- Practical experience with peripherals and interfaces such as CAN/CAN FD, SPI, UART, I2C, ADC, PWM, Timers, DMA, GPIO, and Watchdog.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills in embedded systems.
- Experience investigating and resolving:
- Unexpected resets and startup failures
- Watchdog issues
- Intermittent and timing-related problems
- Communication failures
- Memory corruption and system stability issues
- Hardware-software integration problems
- Field/customer-reported issues
- Ability to independently drive issue investigation from symptom identification to root-cause closure.
- Experience using debugging and analysis tools such as Lauterbach Trace32, JTAG Debuggers, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, CANoe, CANalyzer, or equivalent tools.
- Good understanding of RTOS concepts including task scheduling, synchronization, resource management, and timing behavior.
- Ability to understand existing software architectures, navigate large codebases, and contribute effectively in complex embedded environments.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and ownership mindset.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with AUTOSAR architecture and Basic Software (BSW) stack.
- Hands-on experience with Vector toolchain including DaVinci Configurator, DaVinci Developer, CANoe, and CANalyzer.
- Knowledge of AUTOSAR modules such as MCAL, OS, EcuM, WdgM, NvM, COM, DEM, and DCM.
- Experience in Functional Safety development aligned with ISO 26262 concepts.
- Understanding of safety mechanisms such as watchdog supervision, end-to-end protection, fault handling, safe state management, and error recovery strategies.
- Experience with Diagnostics and troubleshooting concepts including UDS, DEM, DTC handling, Diagnostic Services, and ECU fault analysis.
- Exposure to Automotive communication protocols such as LIN and Automotive Ethernet.
- Familiarity with software quality processes, static analysis tools, coding guidelines, and software verification activities.
- Experience in Automotive ECU development and product lifecycle activities.
