The Entitlements Platform team sits at the very heart of Goldman Sachs, responsible for protecting the firm against the risks associated with both over-privilege and under-privilege. We are the guardians of access, ensuring that only the right people have access to the right data at the right time. Our team builds the critical security controls that facilitate the firm's mandatory adherence to regulatory and compliance policies. We are an elite team of full-stack developers that provide hosted applications, standalone libraries, and customizable workflow tooling to empower the firm's authorization needs for applications and their associated data.

As a Software Engineer on the team, you will:
- Design, develop, and test cross-platform software solutions that are secure, scalable, and maintainable
- Build applications, libraries, and services to manage the lifecycle of application privileges
- Provide externalized authorization capabilities and allow secure, auditable access to the production environment
- Collaborate with colleagues across diverse technology teams to understand their needs and build solutions that meet their requirements
- Be a proactive problem solver, identifying potential issues and developing mitigation plans

Required Qualifications:
- Strong core and server-side Java software development experience
- Experience implementing RESTful APIs and microservice architecture
- Familiarity with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, database design principles and object-relational mapping frameworks
- The ability to communicate technical concepts effectively, both in writing and orally, as well as the interpersonal skills required to collaborate effectively with colleagues across diverse technology teams
- Proficiency in designing, developing, and testing cross-platform software
- Solid experience of version control, continuous integration, deployment, and configuration management tools
- The ability to understand and effectively debug both new and existing software
- Self-motivated and ability to work in a high-paced environment with tight deadlines
- An understanding of customer-first and data driven design
Preferred Qualifications:
- A grounding in identity and privilege management concepts, including relationships between employee and privilege lifecycle, authorization vs. authentication, and segregation of duties
- Expertise in Web display technologies, particularly modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks (e.g., React/Redux), CSS (including experience with SASS, LESS, and/or PostCSS), and HTML
- Experience with Kubernetes and container management
- Proficiency in Apache Kafka and its core principles
Salary Range
The expected base salary for this Jersey City based position is $115000-$180000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
