Join the dynamic and forward-thinking AI CTRL product team at Expedient, a group focused on building a secure, efficient, and powerful enterprise AI platform that combines enterprise data with agentic AI systems. As an AI Software Engineer, you will contribute across the entire lifecycle of the AI CTRL solution. Operating within Expedient's industry-leading cloud infrastructure environment, you will engage in platform development, operational support, client interaction, and integration efforts. This position demands exceptional adaptability and a passion for tackling a diverse range of challenges in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.   
 
Role: You are a flexible, adaptable, and highly skilled software engineer capable of contributing effectively across the full spectrum of the AI CTRL product. Your mission involves seamlessly shifting focus between platform development and DevOps practices, troubleshooting client-facing technical issues, and building new integrations and workflows as team priorities dictate. You are a versatile problem-solver, ready to apply your broad technical skills wherever they are most needed to advance the product and guarantee customer success.
Activities & Responsibilities:
  • Actively contribute to the design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation of the core AI CTRL platform, including backend services, APIs, and potentially frontend components.
  • Engage in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues, which may involve analyzing logs, debugging code, fixing bugs, and potentially interacting directly with clients or support engineers to understand and solve problems.
  • Design, develop, and implement integrations connecting AI CTRL with external systems, create custom automated workflows, and build proofs-of-concept to demonstrate and extend the platform's capabilities for specific use cases.
  • Collaborate extensively and effectively with all members of the AI CTRL team (platform engineers, solutions engineers, integration engineers), demonstrating the flexibility to pivot between different types of tasks and projects based on evolving team needs and priorities.
  • Write, test, and maintain robust, scalable, secure, and high-quality code across various parts of the AI CTRL system, adhering to best practices and team standards.
  • Proactively champion, explore, and utilize AI-powered tools and techniques to enhance personal productivity, accelerate development cycles, improve code quality, and foster innovation across all assigned tasks.
  • Participate fully in the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design discussions, code reviews, testing strategies, deployment coordination, and ongoing maintenance activities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, actively seeking to understand and adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and challenges within the AI, cloud computing, and enterprise software domains ("Adaptability" value).   
 Fit & Qualifications:
  • Experience: Solid foundation in software engineering principles backed by practical experience across multiple technical domains (e.g., backend development, frontend development, DevOps/SRE, API design, data handling/pipelines). Demonstrable ability to learn new technologies and programming languages quickly and apply existing skills effectively to unfamiliar areas. Experience thriving in a fast-paced, agile, or startup-like environment is a significant plus.
  • Skills: Proficiency in one or more widely used programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Java, JavaScript). A strong conceptual understanding of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware), CI/CD practices, RESTful API development, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL). Familiarity with, or a strong demonstrated interest in, AI/ML technologies, concepts, and their practical application. Excellent analytical problem-solving skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience that clearly demonstrates versatility, strong foundational knowledge, and the ability to learn rapidly.
This is a full-time, in-office position in Cleveland, Ohio.  
The salary range provided here is an estimate. The exact salary awarded will be determined by a number of things including your experience, skills, proven successes and what you bring to the role.  Estimated annual salary range is $80k to $150k – again, the precise salary will be determined by your individual experience.
